Current Love Interest: None Pet(s)/Familiar: None Sexual Orientation: He's confused which could indicate that he bats for both teams. Personality: Dean is what you would call a basically good bloke. Polite to his elders, kind to strangers (even if slightly suspicious too), attentive and loyal to his friends, willing to listen to people before judging them, very studious, serious but also cheerful, artistic and very interested in the more odd and inexplicable sides of life and the world. He abhors physical and magical violence, and would much prefer to solve conflicts through words. His best friend of all times is Seamus Finnigan. He doesn't get friends easily despite his likeable nature, and needs some time to fully get to know somebody before trusting and befriending them. He has always felt slightly awkward in the world. As he lived like a muggle, he was marked by the odd things happening around him, giving him a reputation of being slightly strange. He had few (and still has them) but very close friends. When he found out he was a wizard, he saw it as a chance to finally find that place in the world where he would fit in, but again he found himself somewhat set apart from others. Mostly because of his (believed) Muggleborn origins and how those were viewed by many in the Wizarding world. Unable to fully fit into either world, he's in between, which occasionally can give him a faint feeling of disconnectedness. This also results in Dean sometimes pulling slightly into himself and throwing himself at creating art if he can't relate to what's happening around him. He would go far to protect people close to him, especially his family and close friends. Strengths: Drawing/painting, Arithmancy, Transfiguration, fiercely loyal, intelligence, numbers and math, hardworking. Weaknesses: joking (although he does have a well developed sense for humour), stubborn/blockheaded/conservative, divination, tends to focus too much on details instead of seeing the broader picture, perfectionist to the extreme. Likes: Art, books, food, magic, chocolate, Dislikes: Pumpkins in any variation as food, dishonesty, being interrupted while studying/reading/drawing (unless it's somebody he wants to be interrupted by), slacking Habits: Very meticulous and orderly in all aspects (perhaps bordering on obsessive). He's very physically active to make up for all the hours he spends on his arse studying, and he runs every morning before breakfast unless he has a very good reason not to. When concentrating or deep in thoughts, Dean rubs or tugs at his earlobe. History (family history, school history, and post-school if applicable): His real father, a wizard, disappeared shortly after Dean was born, and was killed by Death Eaters when he refused to join the cause. Dean doesn't know that he's a halfblood and not a muggleborn. He had a fairly normal and happy childhood although he was often troubled by strange happenings around him. Which in turn kept him from getting many friends, since some saw him not only as a geek (always either reading or drawing), but also a freak. Before he knew he was magical, he was thinking about a career as architect – like his stepfather – and he hasn't really given up on that yet. When he received the letter to Hogwarts he was first dumbstruck, then scared witless and then completely enthralled with the prospect of entering into a magical world that's he's otherwise only read about in books and seen in movies. The thought of actually living at Hogwarts without being able to see his family every day was the worst though, but meeting Seamus Finnigan on the train and becoming best friends with him helped that a lot. At school he's always studied hard and done his best, while also trying to be a good and supportive friend.
